My work is inspired by the beauty, complexity, and quiet wonder of the natural world. My Afro-Indigenous heritage and deep love of nature both influence the way I observe color, pattern, and place. Whether I’m painting sweeping landscapes, native wildlife, or wildflowers, I’m drawn to the moments that invite us to slow down and truly see.

Working primarily in acrylic on birchwood panel, I embrace the natural grain of the wood as an active part of each painting, allowing its warmth and texture to become another expression of nature itself.

My paintings are rooted in observation, not realism. I am continually captivated by the richness of color that exists in the natural world, colors that are often overlooked. While many depictions of nature emphasize muted earth tones, I experience these landscapes as vibrant, luminous, and alive.

Respect for place is central to my practice. When painting specific landscapes, I acknowledge the Indigenous nations whose ancestral homelands continue to shape these places, honoring the enduring relationship between people and land.

Above all, I paint from a place of curiosity and joy. My hope is that each piece invites viewers to pause, reconnect with nature, and discover wonder and beauty through a fresh perspective.
